4. ACM BuildSys 2019 Call for Workshop Proposals

High-quality workshops on new trends or emerging topics of interest to the BuildSys research community are routinely collocated with the BuildSys conference. The ACM BuildSys 2019 conference will host a limited number of full or half-day workshops on 10 Nov 2019.

Workshop proposals are currently being invited. The deadline for submitting the proposal is 20 Apr 2019. Please email your proposal to the workshop co-chairs, namely Semiha Ergan and Dan Wang.

The information sought for the workshops along with the submission instructions are available at
http://buildsys.acm.org/2019/workshops.html

5. International Energy Agency (IEA) EBC Annex 79 – Open Data Survey

Subtask 2 of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Energy in Buildings and Communities Programme (EBC) Annex 79 would like to understand current practices for sharing and using open data on occupant presence and actions and associated building conditions. Enabling research with open data and source code has a potential to improve quality, efficiency and impact of research. Therefore, we would like to invite you and your colleagues to provide input on the current status and future potentials by filling out the following survey (which will take about 5 minutes):

https://www.survey-xact.dk/LinkCollector?key=WSCD8HKY919J

The results of the survey will shape the activities of this subtask with the goal of enabling research based on open data.

If you have any questions about the survey please contact Mikkel Baun Kjærgaard <mbkj@mmmi.sdu.dk>

6. Posting additional information

If you would like to post additional information such as academic job opportunities, Ph.D. scholarships, or a new energy systems course, then please send me the details and I will include them in the next monthly newsletter. My email address is arvishwa@au1.ibm.com.

As always, the ACM EIG-ENERGY website has the latest information. We welcome you to peruse it https://energy.acm.org/
