1. ACM e-Energy 2021 – Call for Posters and Demos

The ACM e-Energy conference is now soliciting submissions of posters and demos demonstrating working prototypes/proof-of-concepts and/or reflecting on-going research progress. The submission of abstracts must be in PDF format (need not be double blind), not exceeding 2 pages, and be formatted according to the official ACM Proceedings format.

Submission deadline: 3 May

Please see detailed CFP and submission instructions here
https://energy.acm.org/conferences/eenergy/2021/cfposters.php

2. DACH+ Conference on Energy Informatics 2021 – Call for papers

This year’s DACH+ Conference on Energy Informatics as well as the Doctoral Workshop will take place *virtually* between 13-17 September 2021. The objective of the DACH+ conference series on Energy Informatics is to promote the research, development, and implementation of information and communication technologies in the energy domain and to foster the exchange between academia, industry, and service providers in the German-Austrian-Swiss region and its neighbouring countries (DACH+).

Submission deadline: 7 May

For the detailed CFP and other related information please refer to

3. ACM BuildSys 2021 – Call For Papers

The 8th ACM International Conference on Systems for Energy-Efficient Built Environments (BuildSys 2021) will host a highly selective, single-track forum for research on systems issues covering all aspects of the built environment, broadly defined. It is the premier conference for researchers and practitioners working to develop and optimize smart infrastructure systems that are driven by sophisticated sensing, computing, and control functions.

Abstract registration deadline: 9 July
Paper submission deadline: 16 July
Conference: 17-18 Nov

Please see the detailed CFP here http://buildsys.acm.org/2021/

4. ICML 2021 Workshop – Tackling Climate Change with Machine Learning

The workshop invites submissions of short papers using machine learning to address problems in climate mitigation, adaptation, or modelling. The workshop is part of ICML, one of the premier conferences on machine learning.

Submission deadline: 31 May
Mentorship application deadline:  April 28th

Please visit https://www.climatechange.ai/events/icml2021.html for additional information about the workshop and the submission instructions.

5. ACM SIGEnergy resource for energy-related data sets

The ACM SIGEnergy website has a Resources page with a variety of data sets freely available for use by the energy community. It is available at https://energy.acm.org/resources/

We invite each of you to share any energy-related data sets, models and software that we haven’t added to this page. Please send this information directly to Omid Ardakanian at ardakanian@ualberta.ca.

6. Posting additional information

If you would like to post additional information such as academic job opportunities, Ph.D. scholarships, or a new energy systems course, then please send me the details and I will include them in the next monthly newsletter. My email address is arvishwa@au1.ibm.com.

As always, the ACM SIGEnergy website has the latest information. We welcome you to peruse it https://energy.acm.org/
